Role: The Delivery Driver, Fuel AZ is responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of petroleum products to various commercial and residential customers as dispatched up to 300 km radius of the office. The driver will follow predetermined routes, adhere to safety regulations, maintain accurate records, and interact with customers with a high level of professionalism. The driver will operate either a commercial straight tanker truck holding up to 25,000 liters of product or a straight trailer, b-train, or pup holding up to 50,000 liters of product.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Fuel Delivery: Drive to various commercial and residential customer locations to pump fuel from the tanker into the customers’ tanks following pre-determined route provided. Transfer fuel from the bulk plant to the tanker by ascending the loading racks and utilizing hoses to fill the compartments. Adhere to all Highway Traffic Act regulations while driving by maintaining an accurate daily logbook, using an Electronic Logging device. Take tank dip reading.
- Administrative Tasks: Complete and submit TDG documents, Bills of Lading, delivery tickets, and trip summaries. Utilize technology for precise documentation of customer services rendered, ensuring accurate data capture and billing.
- Safety Compliance and Regulations: Always adhere to the highest safety standards, ensuring vehicles are thoroughly inspected before each trip. Comply with the Transport of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations to guarantee the safe handling, storage, and transportation of hazardous materials.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Location: Preferably lives in Hearst, ON or other nearby areas.
- Typical schedule: 8-14 hours per day. Weekend schedule required. May require taking early morning, evening, or late-night shifts. Must follow Hours of Service regulations as set by the Highway Traffic Act Ontario Regulation 555-06.
- Travel Requirement: 90% during the scheduled shift. Rare but occasionally overnight stays.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Licenses and Certifications: Valid Class AZ license and current driver's abstract with a satisfactory driver rating in accordance with company policy.
- Physical Requirements: Able to operate tandem Tanker or B Train truck, including automatic and manual 18-speed transmissions. Able to perform tasks associated with loading and offloading of products, including lift and carry; or push and pull items from 20 to 50 lbs. The job also demands stamina for long hours of driving, and the physical demands of loading and unloading cargo and pulling a fuel hose.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of driving experience in Northern Ontario (Timmins to Thunder Bay region). Experience operating in a logging environment is considered a strong asset. Prior experience in the transportation of petroleum products and/or hazardous materials preferred.
- Technology: Able to use a smart phone to conduct basic administrative tasks and a computer for mandatory online training courses.
- Skills: Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws and regulations. Working proficiency in basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication). Mechanically inclined to detect basic malfunctions on truck being operated. Safety, service, and savings mindset.
- Safety and Compliance: Candidates must successfully complete a company driver road test and pre-trip inspection as part of the pre-hire screening process.
