POSITION SUMMARY:
Constance Lake First Nation is seeking a Traditional Land Based Worker to support children, youth, and families through culturally grounded programming. This role focuses on strengthening cultural identity, wellness, and community connection through Cree/OjiCree teachings, ceremonies, and land-based activities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Knowledge of Cree/OjiCree culture, traditions, and land-based practices
• Experience working with First Nations youth, families, or community programs
• Grade 12 diploma (post-secondary education an asset)
• Valid Class G Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle
• Willingness to work flexible hours (evenings/weekends)
• Criminal Record Check & Vulnerable Sector Check
• Cree or Ojibwe language skills are an asset
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Plan and deliver cultural teachings, ceremonies, and land-based activities
• Support youth prevention, wellness, and leadership initiatives
• Collaborate with departments to deliver cultural programming
• Work alongside Elders and Knowledge Keepers to promote traditional knowledge
• Organize land-based outings such as fishing, harvesting, medicine picking, and camps
• Assist with community events and cultural supports when requested
• Maintain basic records and activity reports
