Key Responsabilities

• review and understand the tasks at hand and the equipment that will be moving in and out of the worksite;
• ensure appropriate tools are transported to the worksite; ensure proper functioning off all tools prior to utilization;
• set up traffic control plan according to the supervisor’s instructions;
• apply knowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and the tools required in various construction processes;
• provide manual labour assistance in the successful completion of construction projects from start to finish;
• follow all applicable safety practices and procedures

In addition:

• comply with safety requirements, and wear all required and CSA approved safety equipment;
• review the work site on a daily basis and consult with Site Supervisor to understand work being conducted and any potential hazards;
• other duties as assigned

Skills/Requirements

• workers must be punctual;
• must be willing to work out of town at times;
• High School Diploma or equivalent, Post-Secondary diploma in a related field preferred;
• prior experience in Traffic Control is an asset;
• ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner;
• effective verbal and listening communications skills;
• time management skills (dependable and reliable);
• must possess a valid driver’s license;
• ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule;
• ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
